When the Graduate Management Admissions Council [GMAC] launched Operation MBA in 2005, Wake Forest was one of the first schools to sign up for the program, which deems a school military-friendly if it offers scholarships and deferment flexibility to military candidates.
Councillor Rhodri Traherne, said: "It is our view that in the current recession there should be at least a 12-month business rates holiday, not just a deferment, for small businesses with a rateable value up to pounds 6,500.
I am aware there is also a motion on the Agenda for a three year deferment for a thorough investigation to be conducted.
