We have a classic disease triangle (agent, host, and environment), and a primary-prevention approach would emphasize eliminating the ability of that triangle to have three legs. In a previous column I discussed the environment as one of three legs of the disease triangle. Using the analogy of the disease triangle (agent, host, and environment) Epstein's framework defines three spheres: climate system, ecosystems, and social systems. |
