Question

Country: United States of America State: California Yesterday, police took my wife to jail on the basis of a warrant. The warrant was for a felony account of elder abuse, where the incident is dated 1996. (She has never been aware of this.) She has been living in the state all these years. Isn't this time barred due to the Statute of Limitations?

Answer

The warrant is still valid but it is odd that that occurred only now--ask the DA to explain.
