| Once a nation expunges one of the most basic and fundamental moral cornerstones of society like marriage, its civil, democratic, and even economic structures, which depend on these cornerstones, will eventually disintegrate as well. Instead of being the catalyst for change, for progress, for a more just and thoughtful society, it seems to often be the instrument of indoctrination--the first step in an ordeal that expunges people of their differences. But history has shown us that "killing the messenger" never expunges the message. |
