Mr Squire said yesterday: "I am pleased the regeneration scheme is going to involve the demolition of some bedsits and flatlets.
I have mixed feelings as I see the college site in Billingham being developed as I think they could have had built as many, or more, flatlets for the elderly on the same foundations.
For the first year of their course, the students live here, but next year they will be moving into 20 flatlets being built next door by the Aldwyck Housing Association.
