Pediatric XGP has a greater propensity for focal disease and a lower predilection for females.
Our understanding of atherosclerosis has shifted from a focal disease whose hallmark is symptoms caused by a severe stenosis to a systemic disease characterized by endothelial dysfunction (ED) and plaque inflammation, with the potential for rupture and thrombosis mainly in those with subcritical stenosis.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of AVONEX on global and focal disease as measured by multiple non-conventional and conventional MRI indices in a large sample of MS patients with either relapsing-remitting (RR) or secondary-progressive MS over 1 year.
