Iceland's 228,000 voters were expected to give the cold shoulder to the conservative Independence Party that governed the country for 18 years until it resigned in January amid massive protests over the crisis that brought Iceland to the brink of bankruptcy.
It was snow difficult to pick the best of the entries, but we could not give the cold shoulder to this effort from GORDON REID, Links Green, Gosforth: "Mike, it is not snow mate, it is people ripping up their season tickets.
The giveaway forms part of the Northumbria Police Freeze Out campaign which aims to give the cold shoulder to any opportunist thief over the festive season.
