This hypothesis is supported by data from an observational, uncontrolled study showing improved survival with use of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in melioidosis septic shock (32). Aggressive management of their sinonasal fungal disease consisted of surgical debridement and systemic amphotericin B for all patients, and treatment with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor for two patients. The use of erythropoietin and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) were allowed as indicated by the clinical condition. |
