The usual treatment for trench foot (or immersion foot, as it is called in medical circles) is thorough drying, regular changes of sock, the avoidance of constrictive footwear and lots of rest.
Although hypothermia and heat stroke are commonly thought of as the most life-threatening of temperature injuries, the morbidity of conditions such as immersion foot and frostbite should not be overlooked.
