Certainly my father had a lot to do with it because, once you got past politics, he knew how to see irrationalities and the ways in which they affect us, and he knew how to laugh at them. Even Peter Land, in his cheerful video The staircase, 1998, rolls down the stairs in an endless loop: different models for grasping irrationalities in the space-time continuum. They do have the right Alice-in-Wonderland perspective, the naive good sense that frames the irrationalities around them. |
