We determined white and red blood cell counts; hemoglobin; hematocrit; mean corpuscular volume, hemoglobin, and hemoglobin concentration; red cell distribution width; platelet counts and volume; and neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil, and basophil counts with a Bayer Advia 120 Hematology Analyzer (Bayer Diagnostics, Terrytown, NY). The Excyte Pro-Diff 5 is a fully-automated device used to count red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, measure hemoglobin and calculate or measure several red cell indices, including erythrocyte mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, and the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration. |
