Training is the foundation on which all modern militaries are built. Thus, in the interest of manning regular armed forces with enlisted and NCO personnel, Western militaries use a balanced servicemen classification system based on specific categories and military ranks. It may well be asked on what criteria the countries were chosen since there was no explanation nor attempt at categorizing the case studies along discernible patterns of past, present and future civil-military relations and the very roles militaries play and how they are affected in the general processes of economic development and political modernization. |
