| Soft-spoken criminal mastermind "Doc" Reidenschneider (Sam Jaffe) has spent seven years in the prison library perfecting the plans for a jewel heist, and as Huston's gritty narrative unfolds, the not-so-good "Doc" assembles his motley team of specialists and moves in for the kill. The zaftig Gwen (Camryn Manheim), on the other hand, is barely separated from her husband before a skilled, if strange, Lothario named Walter (Joseph Fuqua) moves in for the kill. In the play's best scenes, he sizes up each woman like a scheming romantic warrior, discovers her weaknesses, then moves in for the kill. |
