multiple warrants, many states

Ok about four months ago me and my now ex had a fight and I ended up choking her. When we went to court a month later she spoke with the judge and the DA and told them she didn't want the charges against me that we were both in the wrong and what not. The judge dismissed the case. Today she came to my house to give me a ride to work and I had her stop so I could check my mail. There was a letter from the DA's office telling her that I was going to indicted by the Grand Jury and they were forming her of her rights as the victim. My question is how can they indicted me for a charge that was dismissed and I was never convicted of? Does that not constitute Double Jeopardy?

Answer

It seemd very odd if the case was dismissed in court; it may be an error; ask the DA's office to explain.

ok I need some guidance here on what to do I have multiple warrants in different states and I want to know how I can just clear this all up. ok first I have felony dui in Michigan and got another charge for soliciting sex and I had already violated my probation before I got that. I also have a duty in Indiana in vivo county and I have a domestic violence charge that I never went back to court on in Illinois. so as u can see I just let all these problems build up without just taking care of them and was hoping you could give me a little advice on what I should do or I should say how do I go about trying to get this all taking care of

Answer

You have to hire counsel in our opinion and have them put everything together and get it resolved; there is no other way. You should not handle it alone...
