Question

Country: United States of America State: Hawaii I live in Hawaii (County of Hawaii). Can a neighbor who is a tenant & not the owner of the house file a lawsuit for noise produced by gas remote control cars (sound is similar to a weedwacker or lawnmower) that the neighbors play in their own yards? I did some research and the only noise related ordinances are related to animals or music.

Answer

They can if the sound exceeds local noise levels--and sometimes that is based on the discretion of the police...you may want to ask for the exact local ordinance and discuss with the police as well first.
