All members of Notre Dame de Namur undertook their formation in Namur, but the Sisters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, which had a commitment to adaptation and a more flexible Rule, decided to create an English and Irish Province in 1883 and at once established a noviciate at Mill Hill near London.
