As there remained some paradoxical motion of the left chest segment, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) was applied using a nasal cannula.
Chest wall motion was recorded using respiratory inductance plethysmography, and signals were analyzed for paradoxical motions (abdomen or rib cage moving in opposite directions) and asynchronous motions (difference in rate of change of movement in the rib cage or abdominal compartment).
The ADVANCE(R) Double-High Knee System can minimize paradoxical motion through an articulation designed to provide stability and maximize PCL function.
