| Genetic linkage and association studies have identified many chromosomal regions and quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with complex phenotypes related to alcohol induced behaviors and/or alcoholism. The SNP markers will be used by the participants to map quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and to selectively breed cattle. By showing how differences in patterns of protein expression relate to the variation in key quantitative traits in twin pairs, we have the basis of a robust pipeline of novel potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets. |
