FAA rehires hundreds of controllers fired by Reagan. School board member Carla Kurachi said the district already has endured some deep cuts, including slashing at-risk programs and reducing the number of school nurses, after the board agreed last year to freeze rehires. Plus, a growing number of states now allow retirees to draw both their full pension as well as their salaries, and some states even allow rehires to earn a second retirement benefit. |
