Accusations that surfaced in 2004 of backroom dealings and political shakedowns for campaign contributions led to a series of investigations - by county and federal grand juries, the city Ethics Commission and Controller Laura Chick - that proved too much for Hahn to overcome in 2005. All told, there were 31 entries, each made up of a half dozen or more stories on dot-coin meltdowns, AOL Time Warner shenanigans, tax dodges, medical supply shakedowns, and, of course, the falls of Enron, Qwest and Andersen. Performance shakedowns are ongoing as Okapi enters the final preparation phase for its ipXcelerator launch slated for the upcoming SERVER I/O Conference and Tradeshow in Monterey, Calif. |
