As a longstanding member of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), a current shop steward, and a 100 percent union kind of guy, I have found a large segment of the membership to be completely uninterested in union activities.
During our negotiations, I got to know ROC co-founder and general manager, Fekkak Mamdouh, who had worked at Windows for years and had also been the head union shop steward there.
After training provided by the groups, Ramos today is a shop steward on a major construction project in Hollywood.
