The most successfully staffed nursing homes have leaders who understand the needs of their workforce and provide them with flexibility, autonomy and support. For the most part, camps are staffed by inexperienced counselors - young adults who come with a love of camp and an affection for young people but who have little understanding of the awesome responsibility that care giving entails. This enables nurse managers to quickly determine if individual units are properly staffed based on the actual number of patients and their latest acuity, which indicates how much care they require. |
