8) Electrocochleography may show an increased ratio of summating potential to action potential in patients with perilymph fistulae but, overall, findings can be similar to those in patients with Meniere's disease. These measures were created by combining several individual items on the questionnaire using the summating procedure suggested by Spector (1992) in order to create a summated rating scale. The normal ECoG response is very complex, consisting of an AP, a summating potential (SP), and cochlear microphonic (CM) responses. |
