Amber alert

(US and Canadian) originally an acronym of America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, a notification to the general public, such as by commercial radio or electronic traffic-condition signs, regarding an abduction of a child.

The AMBER Plan, which stands for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, was established in response to the 1996 abduction and murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas.
