hypopitys commonly develops underground adventitious buds on the roots, which presumably contain an embryonic inflorescence [109], and, thus, the MhyYAB5 gene can be expressed in the buds.
hypopitys roots with adventitious buds; ab--adventitious bud, rs--growing reproductive stem; scale bar = 1 cm (c); relative expression (qRT-PCR) of the pattern of the MhyCRC, MhyINO1, MhyINO2, MhyFIL3, and MhyYAB5 genes in pinesap tissues, F--flower, B--bract, R--root (d).
In vitro induction and culture of
adventitious buds in epicotyl segments of sour orange.
Organogenesis is characterized by the formation of
adventitious buds. It is considered direct when bud regeneration occurs without callus, and defined as indirect when the regeneration process is preceded by callus formation, which develops into
adventitious buds that grow into new organs (Phillips, 2004).
Later, a few
adventitious buds developed from the callus at the edge of cut surface (Table 1).
Additives promote
adventitious buds induction from anther culture of Bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.).
Many
adventitious buds are formed on the margins or the inner regions of cotyledon explants after 3 weeks incubation on medium containing BA (1.5 mg [l.sup.-1]) and IBA (0.05 mg [l.sup.-1]).
According to Grattapaglia and Machado (1998) BA (6-benzilaminopurine) is the cytokine that provides best results on in vitro aerial parts multiplication and
adventitious buds induction.
For elongation of shoots, the calli with
adventitious buds divided into several sections (each section containing 3-5
adventitious buds) were transferred to MS medium supplemented with [GA.sub.3] (1.0-3.0 mg/l).
Sugars, Hormones, Environment Affect the Dormancy Status in Underground
Adventitious Buds of Leaf Spurge (Euphorbia esula).
