For patients with non-displaced Bennett fracture, we recommend a trial of closed reduction by applying axial traction, palmar abduction, and pronation to the thumb metacarpal while providing pressure over the metacarpal base followed by immobilization in a thumb-spica splint or cast for 4 to 6 weeks.
