Magistrates' Court

the lowest level of criminal court in England and Wales which has some civil jurisdiction in family and licensing matters.

Lady Mostyn's name comes up in the Petty Sessions records on a number of occasions as the plaintiff tiff in cases where people had trespassed on her land or poached animals from her lands, as in a case of 1883.

In 1971 Crown Courts replaced the Quarter sessions and Magistrates' Courts replaced the Petty Sessions.
