Mr Molale said government, through his ministry, had provided funding to
the liquidator to carry-out this function.
The levy of the city of Iligan is against
the liquidator and not against the Indians.
The liquidator will submit to the ministry the final account of the defunct association.
The issue before the court is whether it is appropriate to grant judicial immunity to
the Liquidator. For the reasons discussed below,
the Liquidator is entitled to judicial immunity.
'The two parties are already interested in the acquisition of BCL and they are yet to make an offer to
the liquidator.' Mr Molale said his ministry was engaging
the liquidator to explore options which would ensure that the mines remained on a level of care and maintenance necessary to preserve the assets, being the mineral resources, mine equipment and infrastructure.

Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo has said 546 former employees at BCL Mines have been engaged by

Mr Molale explained in response to a Parliamentary question recently that government took such decision, with the principle objective to protect the interests of the workers by paying for their separation costs through
the liquidator.
