When the attempt failed, she convinced King Charles IX to murder all of the Huguenot leaders, who were in Paris for the wedding of the future Henry IV.  George III Becomes King of Great Britain and Ireland (1760)George III ascended the throne at the age of 22, during the Seven Years' War.
