closure order

1 an order which may be made by a Senior Police Officer closing licensed premises. The order must specify the premises to be closed, the period of closure up to 24 hours and the grounds on which the order is being made, for example, disorder or excessive noise.
2 an order which may be made by the magistrates court on an application by the police to close premises being used for the supply, use or production of Class A drugs where there is associated serious nuisance or disorder. Closure may be for 3 or 6 months and an interim closure pending application to the court maybe enforced by the police for 24 hours.
