The mRNA expressions of HMGR were significantly higher in both 8-week (mild-AS phase) and 16-week (moderate-AS phase) diabetic mice than those in age-matched control mice (Figure 4(a)).
The main finding of this study was that testosterone concentrations in men above the age of 45 years suffering from a major depressive disorder were statistically significantly lower than levels in an age-matched control group without depression.
The total RNA concentrationin the cerebral cortex of the diabetic rats decreased at 4 months after STZ injection (3.032 [+ or -] 1.05 [micro]g/[micro]L) compared with that in the cerebral cortex of the age-matched control rats (4.56 [+ or -] 1.21 [micro]g/[micro]L).

The results of the assessment of the quality of life in women suffering from urinary incontinence, subdivided according to the type of incontinence, were also compared with the age-matched control group.
Group estimates were obtained by pooling all measurements for AD and age-matched control. The Fisher linear discriminant,[25] designated as [Lambda], was calculated for the 2 parameters and adjusted to a zero cutoff.[26] A receiver operating characteristic curve[27] was then constructed using the Fisher linear discriminant.
Compared with an age-matched control group from the Framingham Heart Study, the pergolide-treated patients had a roughly 3-fold increased risk of nonphysiologic regurgitation at the aortic, tricuspid, and mitral valve sites, and an 18-fold increased risk of clinically significant tricuspid regurgitation.
The investigators compared 45 eyes of 24 Parkinson's disease patients and 31 eyes of age-matched control patients following comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations and high-resolution Optovue RTVue Fourier-Domain OCT.
In contrast, most term infants and those born weighing 2,500 g or more were most likely to sleep in a supine position, whether they died of SIDS (48%) or were in the age-matched control group (69%).
In one study, six female BPD patients without comorbid diagnoses and six age-matched control subjects underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) when randomly shown 12 neutral and 12 emotionally aversive slides from the International Affective Picture System.
