BUSHEL, measure. The Winchester bushel, established by the 13 W. III. c. 5, A. D. 1701, was made the standard of grain; a cylindrical vessel, eighteen and a half inches in diameter, and eight inches deep inside, contains a bushel; the capacity is 2145.42 cubic inches. By law or usage it is established in most of the United States. The exceptions, as far as known, are Connecticut, where the bushel holds 2198 cubic inches Kentucky, 2150 2/3; Indiana, Ohio, Mississippi and Missouri, where it contains 2150.4 cubic inches. One or more of the following features suggested by WHO were used to diagnose BU (1): typical nodular, indurated plaque or edematous lesion; [greater than or equal to] 1 painless chronic ulcers with undermined edges or a depressed scar; swelling over a painful joint, suggesting bone involvement; slowly developing lesion (weeks or months); no fever or regional lymphadenopathy; and residence or travel in a zone endemic for BU.
In fact, as we will illustrate in the later part of this paper, there are other grammatical sentences having the verb combined with other element(s) first, before combining with bu. Thus, the analysis of bu being a clitic-like element is difficult to maintain.
