Environmental impact assessment is the process of evaluating the acceptability of the planned intervention (project) with respect to the environment and determination of necessary environment protection measures to be implemented in the context of preparation of the planned intervention.

The minister noted that the project has been scaled down and relocation abroad is an option, should it still fail to win the approval for its environmental impact assessment or the approval be attached with stringent conditions, unacceptable to private-sector shareholders.
