This rubrication script involves a consistent repertoire of letter forms, including a graph of y that is more like that of the scribe, though angularity and degree of carefulness vary.
It is not surprising to find evidence of rubricators improvising with chapter headings, since such small variations abound in chapter headings of the MEPB manuscripts, but the repeated chapter headings of Rauner MS 003183 do give us a glimpse of the degree and kind of change that can characterize any individual manuscript's rubrication.
With regard to Rubricator 2's miscopying of five chapter headings, a plausible explanation is that rubrication took place in units of quires for both exemplar and copy, and Rubricator 2 just picked up the wrong quire to copy from.
