Of many methods for determining the adhesion, one of the simplest and widely used is a
scratch test. This method is characterized by a relatively short measurement time and high repeatability of easily interpretable results, and it simulates the load (stress) occurring during the use of the product with the coating.
In this study, the q parameter was assumed to be 2 because of plastic deformation of the sample during the
scratch test [27].
Traces which were created during the
Scratch Test are shown in Fig.
In this article, first, an integrated approach of
scratch test and finite element simulation was adopted to verify the criteria to assess the scratch resistance of PP.
Firstly, back
scratch test and strength test were measured.
At the baseline, all individuals were asked to perform functional tests in lower (Chair Stand Test for leg strength, Time Up and Go Test for dynamic balance) and upper limbs (Moberg Pickup Test, Back
Scratch Test, Arm Curl Test, Handgrip Strength Test, and Spiral Drawing Test).
In tests, nylon 6 with Solid-TT improved scratch resistance by 71%, and transparent, cycloaliphatic nylon 12 with the additive exhibited improved scratch resistance of 55%, according to the turntable-type Erichsen
Scratch Test (see Fig.
Back
scratch test: Upper body flexibility using back
scratch test was assessed by asking the participants to bring their hands toward the back (one hand from above the shoulder and other hand from middle of back) and asking them to touch each hand.
In an attempt to put the
scratch test on a firmer footing, Oroshnik and Croll (24) developed the concept of "Threshold Adhesion Failure" or TAF.
Microindentation and
scratch tests were performed, respectively, with a Vickers hardness testing machine and
scratch test.
